Migrate a Hermes Agent Profile to Suparagent: Export and Import Guide

Follow this Hermes Agent migration guide to export a JSON profile list or choose a compatible ZIP, preview its agents, and recreate each selected profile in Suparagent.

What a Hermes Agent migration transfers

The migration copies a profile’s name, title, description and standing instructions. On the local app, JSON manifests can also include optional notes and text-only skills; compatible ZIP exports can include memory facts, standalone Markdown skills and a full persona file. Notes require opt-in, and imported skills start disabled. Each profile becomes a new agent on Ask first, with the default model and its own folder.

Credentials, connected accounts, conversations, routines, tools, executable skills, arbitrary files, avatars, rooms and channels are not transferred. Review the export and remove sensitive details before importing it.

1. Create a Hermes Agent export

  1. In Suparagent, open Agents and choose Migrate… .
  2. Select Hermes Agent export and copy the prompt shown in the panel.
  3. Paste the prompt into a Hermes Agent conversation for the profile you want to move. The prompt asks it to use the profile’s standing persona and instructions from SOUL.md when available. The local app requests a versioned manifest; hosted accounts use a basic single-profile JSON export.

2. Preview and import the Hermes Agent profile

  1. In the local app, paste the versioned JSON from the prompt or choose its JSON file. You can also choose a compatible version 1 ZIP profile package with a root JSON profile list. The preview can show up to 20 profiles; import one profile at a time.
  2. Review the name, title, description, instructions, skipped fields and any redactions. Opt in if you want to copy notes. Standalone text-only skills can be reviewed and imported disabled; skills that need extra files are skipped.
  3. Choose Review profile, then import the profile to create a fresh agent. Hosted accounts can paste the basic single-profile JSON reply; profile manifests and ZIP packages are local-app features.

3. Finish setting up the migrated agent

Choose an available engine and sign in separately. Reconnect services and recreate tools, routines, files or other workspace state yourself. Review each permission before using the agent for consequential work.

The importer reads supported profile fields from a JSON or ZIP export. It does not connect to Hermes Agent or scan a source profile folder.

Questions, answered

Can I migrate a Hermes Agent profile folder?

No. Native profile folders are not scanned. The local app accepts a compatible version 1 ZIP with a root JSON profile list, and reads only supported persona text and standalone skills.

Can I migrate multiple Hermes Agent profiles at once?

The local app can preview multiple profiles in one manifest, then lets you review and import them one at a time. Hosted accounts use the basic single-profile paste flow.

Can I import a Hermes Agent ZIP export?

Yes. The local app accepts a compatible version 1 ZIP with a root JSON profile list. It can preview up to 20 profiles and imports one at a time. Standalone Markdown skills and a supported persona file may be read; other workspace files are skipped.

Do memories, skills or scheduled jobs transfer?

Optional notes require your opt-in in the local app. Standalone text-only skills can be included, but start disabled. Credentials, connections, scheduled jobs, tools, workspace files, avatars and conversation history are not transferred.

Does the new agent keep my Hermes sign-in or permissions?

No. The new agent starts on Ask first with the default model and its own folder. Connect an engine and services separately, then set permissions yourself.
