Suparagent vs Devin

Devin is Cognition’s AI software engineering agent. Suparagent is a broader browser workspace with named agents, teams and rooms, editable memory, skills and routines. Choose between a focused coding workflow and a workspace for arranging recurring work across different roles.

Evaluate engineering workflow

For a coding agent, inspect how it receives repository context, handles branches and build commands, exposes diffs, and reports test evidence. Devin is worth evaluating when implementation work dominates. Suparagent’s agent organization can support ongoing roles, but its source features do not establish equivalent coding-specific workflow or qualification.

Example: fix a regression

Give Devin a bounded bug with a reproduction and ask it to identify the cause, patch it and report tests run. Review the changed files and rerun the suite independently. To test Suparagent for surrounding work, create a triage role and an implementation role in a room, add project conventions to editable memory, and see whether the handoff is clear.

Account and qualification

Use Devin if its current repository workflow fits your team. Suparagent requires each user to bring a Boat sandbox key and AI account and sign-up is open. Long-running task qualification is pending, so don’t treat the source’s routines or teams as proof of unattended coding reliability.

A coding trial should include one known failing test and a clean branch. This makes it possible to distinguish a genuine fix from an agent that reports success after running unrelated checks.
